In 2009, the Skåne Blekinge Pilgrim Route was inaugurated with its seven trails. From Lund, St Birgitta’s Way runs to the north, St Olav’s way to the east and St Jacobs way (the road of mercy) to the south.

From Dalby, St Mary’s Way goes towards Trelleborg. Through Mittskåne runs St Magnhild’s Trail, along the east coast the Paradise way leads north towards Kyrkhult and in Blekinge there is St Egino’s Trail which begins (or ends) in Karlskrona. Along the trails, you can experience over a hundred churches from the Middle Ages and onwards, as well as much else of Scanian and Blekinge history and culture, walk in open landscapes with your eyes fixed on the horizon, sometimes in the shade of tall light beech forests, and almost always with the scent of the sea in the air. Here you can taste the divine freedom!
